Azerbaijani Leather Heritage: A Tradition Reimagined

The çarıq is one of the oldest forms of footwear native to the Caucasus — a soft, hand-stitched leather shoe worn across Azerbaijani mountain villages for centuries, prized for being molded entirely to the wearer's foot.
We chose this name deliberately. Our modern collection — Oxfords, loafers, Chelsea boots — looks nothing like the traditional çarıq, but the philosophy is identical: leather shaped by hand, for one specific person, using techniques passed down through generations of craftsmen.
Our workshop sits within reach of the same tanneries and leatherworking communities that have supplied Azerbaijani shoemakers for over a century. Bringing that heritage into a contemporary, export-quality product — one that can stand beside the finest European shoemaking houses — is the entire reason Çarıq exists.
